For UK 12, as it comes:

How to sew it

  1. Sew the two side pieces together at their short ends to make a ring. Press the seams open.
  2. Pin the crown into the top of the ring, right sides together, clipping the ring’s edge so it lies flat round the curve. Sew.
  3. Sew the brim pieces into a ring in the same way (and the second brim, for the underside).
  4. Sew the two brim rings together round the outside edge, right sides together. Trim, turn out, press and topstitch rows round the brim 1 cm apart.
  5. Sew the brim to the bottom of the hat, right sides together.
  6. Make the inside hat (crown and sides) the same way, leaving a 7 cm gap in one side seam. Put it inside the outer hat, right sides together, sew round the brim seam, turn out through the gap and close it. Topstitch round the bottom of the sides.
