Blocks of ends
Name stretches of the threading, weave them as presets, and save them to reuse.
Split the threading into named blocks (A, B, C… from end 1), shown in a strip above the draft. Drag along the strip to mark a block, or use the Blocks button above the draft.
- Click a block label to rename it, change its ends, or remove it.
- The save button at the end of a block’s row keeps it in the block store on this device, warp and weft: its threading and warp colours, and how it weaves all the way down (its own shafts’ lifts, as a repeat) with its weft colours. Unnamed blocks are called "Saved block 1" and so on.
- Put in adds a saved block anywhere, and Swap in replaces a block with one: either way it weaves its pattern all the way down on shafts of its own (added as needed), without adding rows.
- Weave as preset weaves a block as any preset, built in or your own, all the way down: just the part of it that fills the block’s columns, on shafts of the block’s own (added if the rest of the pattern uses its shafts), and the preset’s treadling on every pick. Several blocks can each weave a different preset side by side; each different shed gets a treadle. The block takes the preset’s warp colours. The weft crosses every block, so one pattern’s weft colours go right across the cloth: the newest one woven, or the block you choose under Weft colours from. Choose None to stop a block weaving its pattern.
- To make your own presets, save a pattern, then star it under Load.
