Saving, sharing and printing
Save in the browser, export files, share links and print.
- Save keeps the pattern in this browser, by name (up to 200). Load opens, renames or deletes them.
- The pattern you are working on is kept automatically, so it is still there next time.
- Load › Back up or restore… saves every pattern from Weave, Knit and Sew Patterner, with your colours and settings, to one file. Restore it in any browser, such as on a new computer or phone, to bring your patterns there: they are added beside the ones already saved.
- Export: a pattern file (.weave.json), WIF for weaving software and computer looms, a WIF lift plan for dobby looms, or a PNG or SVG picture.
- Export › Bitmap (BMP): the cloth one pixel per crossing, as on screen (pick 1 at the top). Black and white (black where the warp is up) is what jacquard looms such as the TC2 read; colours uses the thread colours.
- Share makes a link that opens the pattern for anyone, to copy or send to Pinterest, Facebook, X, WhatsApp or email (on a phone, through its share menu). It also makes a picture of the cloth: square for Instagram, tall for Pinterest.
- Instagram only takes posts from its app: download the picture (or share it, on a phone) and post it there.
- Import opens a .weave.json or .wif file.
- Print prints the draft, with written threading and treadling lists if you like.
